A new report from South Korea says that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone and the Gear smartwatch at a special media event that will take place on September 4 in Berlin, Germany.

The date is consistent with what we’ve heard before. It makes sense to see the Galaxy Note 3 arrive at IFA 2013 – or a couple of days before the show kicks off – as that’s where its predecessor were also announced in previous years.

As for the Gear smartwatch, more and more evidence suggests that Samsung will have its own smart wearable in the wild soon.

While details on said smartwatch are not mentioned, Asiae.co.kr says that the Galaxy Note 3 will sport a 5.7-inch AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and the new Exynos 5 Octa processor (at least some models).

In addition, past reports have suggested that the handset will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor (at least some models), 13-megapixel camera and Android 4.3 right out of the box.

Samsung is rumored to have a variety of Galaxy Note 3 models in testing, with screen sizes from 5.7 to 6.0 inches.

Today’s report is based on unnamed “industry sources,” so we’ll remind you that nothing is official just yet. We’ll keep tracking Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung smartwatch rumors for you in the weeks to come.
