LG Enact for Verizon rekindles memories of QWERTY sliders

Yes, you read that right, QWERTY sliders aren’t ready to fade into being remnants of a time long past just yet, something LG is aiming to prove with the Enact for Verizon.

Godfather of leaksters evleaks is at it again, this time revealing the LG Enact, a smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard that is only “days away” from being announced for Verizon (August 29th, according to the carrier’s leaked road map). Since it’s a slider form factor, smartphone keyboard addicts will be able to enjoy the merits of both a dedicated physical keyboard and a full 4-inch touchscreen display (unlike devices like the BlackBerry Q10).

Earlier rumors pit the LG Enact squarely in the lower mid-range segment, with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Adreno 305 GPU, a 5-megapixel camera (reaffirmed by evleaks), and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean (with what look like stock Android’s navigation buttons, but those are probably capacitive). As such, only those looking for a smartphone with a full physical keyboard will find something to really like here.

Details on pricing are unavailable, but expect the LG Enact to be somewhere around $50 on contract and replace the Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II. Any of you getting one?
