HTC One Android 4.3 update spotted in Taiwan, as North Ameri
Android 4.3′s been out for two months by now, and 4.4 KitKat looms just over the horizon. So, when are we going to start seeing more phones make the update? We’ve been talking about a 4.3 update hitting the HTC One for a while now, and saw just such a ROM leak. That’s well and good, but what about an official release? HTC’s been talking a little about its timetable, as we hear about distribution getting underway in Taiwan.
That 4.3 update sure seems to be hitting One handsets in HTC’s homeland, weighing-in as a hefty 512MB download. The release keeps the phone on Sense 5.0, but introduces Android 4.3 along with a number of phone-specific improvements, including camera enhancements.
Yesterday, HTC said that 4.3 updates should also arrive for developer editions of the One sometime this week, and that Canadian users could expect distribution of their own updates to get underway by the end of September.
Or course, with October, we’re expecting the arrival of KitKat, so even if you manage to get your phone up-to-date, it’s only going to be a matter of weeks before it’s lagging behind again – the circle of update life, we suppose.
